How to Apply & File:

1. Register, apply online here, and pay the fee.

   1. You will need to upload - photo ID and CDR card.

   2. You will need to get fingerprinting done for the Criminal Background Check and mail to: North Carolina Board of Dietetics/Nutrition 1135 Kildaire Farm Rd., Suite 200 Cary, NC 27511

$248 ($60 application fee, $150 issuance fee, $38 background check fee)

After You Apply - What to Expect

• Processing Time - the background check component of the licensure application can take up to 6 weeks to process, and takes your action to initiate by getting fingerprinted.

• When can I start practicing?

  • You are not licensed when your application is submitted. Rather, you are licensed once your application and background check are fully processed AND you are notified of your license number via email.

Renewal

All licenses issued in a calendar year are issued through March 31st of the following year, regardless of the date of issuance. Annual renewal fees are due between January 1st and March 31st of each year.
