District of Columbia
If your patient is physically located in Washington, DC, you generally must be licensed/registered/certified in DC to provide telehealth services.
Exception (if you are not DC-licensed): You may provide telehealth only if you already have an existing provider–patient relationship and one of the following applies:
The patient is temporarily in DC (e.g., traveling), or
The patient is a DC resident and telehealth services do not exceed 120 days (unless DC extends this timeframe).
Telehealth may also be permitted if services fall under an interstate reciprocity agreement or licensure compact recognized by DC.
