⚙️Technical Competency Recommendations
As a provider on the Berry Street platform, you are expected to possess the basic technical skills required to operate independently in a virtual care environment. This includes:
Proficiency in using computers and internet-based tools to access the platform, complete documentation, and communicate with patients and staff.
We strongly recommend using an up-to-date computer to ensure compatibility with our video platform and other tools (e.g., microphone, camera, etc). Older devices may not support all features or deliver the best quality experience.
Ability to navigate web-based software, including video conferencing platforms, secure messaging, scheduling tools, and electronic records.
Competence in managing digital communications such as email, calendar invitations, and troubleshooting basic tech issues (e.g., connectivity, audio/video settings)
Ensuring your location is able to maintain a secure, strong, and stable internet connection.
We recommend providers and patients use a Google Chrome browser when attending sessions.
Providers are responsible for ensuring that any personal devices used for work are HIPAA-compliant.
Recommended Tech Setup
For the best experience with Berry Street systems and virtual appointments, we recommend the following:
Computer: Use a device no older than 5 years for optimal performance.
Internet: A stable, high-speed connection is essential. Test your speed at speedtest.net and aim for at least 20 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
Software: Keep your operating system fully updated to the latest version for security and compatibility.
Browser: Use Google Chrome or Safari when joining appointments for the best functionality and reliability.
If you're unsure whether your setup or skill level meets the requirements, we encourage you to ask for support or training before beginning patient sessions. A baseline level of digital fluency is critical to ensuring a smooth and professional experience for both patients and team members.
